Just get frustrated with my NIKON SB-900 over heat problem. After about 50 shoot it's will auto shutdown and have to wait about 1-2 minute before it's can function as normal again.
I have email to NIKON Malaysia about this problem and they reply me
---------------------------> NIKON Email start <------------------- For your information, this is a thermal cut out warning. Usage of high mAh (for example 2500mAh and above) Ni-MH batteries may contribute to the quick rise of temperature. Therefore, try to use rechargeable Ni-MH batteries with 2000mAh (for example, Sanyo Eneloop, http://www.eneloop.info/products/batteries.html). The use of such batteries may slow down the temperature rise, which means you get to shoot more frames. We do not recommend you to turn off the termal Cut-out warning (under the Speedlight menu) as this may damage your speedlight if it goes overheated.
---------------------------> NIKON Email End<------------------- So from my opinion there is no way to totaly avoid this problem they only recommend to use rechargeable Ni-MH batteries with 2000mAh to slow down the temperature rise. I did ask if NIKON Malaysia take any step to repair the failured mechanisam on SB-900 or event exchange those having a shutdown problem in the future? and they reply
